Police arrested a 56-year-old man after he allegedly threw an object over a hotel balcony, striking a 75-year-old woman in Waikiki.
Police said the woman sustained a minor injury after she was struck by the unspecified object at about 4:39 p.m. Thursday.
The suspect and woman are not known to one another. Police arrested the suspect shortly afterward at the Hyatt Centric Waikiki Beach Hotel at 349 Seaside Ave. on suspicion of second-degree assault, second-degree reckless endangering and harassment of a police officer.
Man nabbed in failed robbery of Waikiki coffee shop
Police arrested an adult male suspect after he allegedly attempted to rob a coffee shop in Waikiki early Friday.
Police said the suspect entered the shop and passed a note to an employee demanding cash shortly before 5:30 a.m. He then fled without any money from the establishment. Police responded and arrested the suspect in the area on suspicion of second- degree robbery.
Driver in extremely critical condition after crash in Kapolei
A male driver was taken in extremely critical condition to a hospital after a single- vehicle crash Thursday night.
The male, of undetermined age, was driving alone along Farrington Highway in Kapolei around 8 p.m. when his vehicle collided with a tree, according to Emergency Medical Services. He may have suffered a medical issue before the crash, EMS said.
Paramedics treated and transported the driver to an area medical facility.
